Prepare the student handout for the project with the challenge, timeline, requirements, restrictions, and rubric.

Distribute and review with students the project handout.

Discuss the roles each student will/must take within their groups. Distribute group lists and reseat students for the duration of the project. Have students select their roles following the discussion and meeting of their groups.

15 minutes
Students will meet with their groups to brianstorm their story ideas and begin writing their screenplays as required by the assignment.

Ongoing Assessment(s): The final product will be assessed, but throughout the project, group will assess their members for participation and the instructor will meet with groups throughout the process, both as needed and scheduled in advance.
Accommodations and Extensions: Students with individual needs will be addressed as needed, but upon review of IEP's and 504 plans all students should be able to access learning through this project. Individual support will be provided by group members and myself. All students have the opportunity to stretch beyond the requirements of this project using creativity and technical aptitude.
Back-up Plan: None - any scheduling accommodation will be addressed by a change in date.
